Dr Karen Joash is a dedicated obstetrician and gynaecologist with over fifteen years of experience, known for providing high-quality care to women. She is a skilled labour ward practitioner with a passion for tailoring birth experiences to each woman’s needs and desires. Whether it’s waterbirths or natural caesareans, Dr Joash ensures every family has a safe, memorable, and positive birth experience. Her holistic approach and expertise in both low-risk and high-risk conditions allow her to offer personalised care to all women.

In her NHS role, Dr Joash is the lead for perinatal mental health and postnatal care, recognising that the birth journey extends beyond delivery. She previously served as the lead for Quality and Safety in Maternity at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, always emphasising the importance of safe practice.

Dr Joash also provides comprehensive gynaecological services, specialising in early pregnancy, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and gynaecological scanning. She understands the demands of women’s schedules and offers many procedures in an office setting, including outpatient hysteroscopy and coil insertions. She is highly skilled in managing menstrual disorders, hormonal imbalances, premenstrual issues, and fibroids.

Her passion for medical education led to her previous role as the divisional director for Education in Women’s and Children’s Health at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She is currently the Head of School for postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London.
